A new way to move and breath... Introducing Yoga Chi
Darlene Listro | NOV 28, 2025
I wanted to share something new that has been slowly forming in my own practice for many years — a class that blends two worlds I love.
For almost 15 years, I’ve taken Tai Chi and Qigong classes with my teacher, Sandra Diamond, and these practices have been a steady source of grounding and calm for me. Later, during my chair yoga training with Lakshmi Voelker, I explored ways to adapt some of those soft, circular movements into accessible forms of yoga.
Over time, I began weaving a few of these gentle, energy-focused movements into my regular mat classes. What emerged was a blend that felt natural, supportive, and centering. It helped me feel more stable and balanced in my body — and I realized it might offer the same benefits to others.
A gentle fusion of yoga with movements inspired by Qigong and Tai Chi
This yoga class, built around grounding postures, mindful stretching, and intentional breathwork, will include a few simple Qigong- and Tai Chi–inspired movements — especially at the beginning and end of each session — to help awaken energy, calm the mind, and settle the nervous system.
Each class invites you to stretch, flow, breathe, and reconnect with your own inner rhythm — movement that feels both calming and energizing.
